FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
General questions about our services answered here
OUR FAQ
DO WE REQUIRE A NOTICE PERIOD?
We appreciate as much notice as possible so we can properly schedule everything we need into place, well in advance, to ensure we deliver the service you should expect. We can hold a slot in the diary for you then, about a week in advance, we will call you to see how plans are progressing. If we become inundated with requests for your reserved date we will always give you first option to 100% confirm that date.
I HAVE STUFF IN MY LOFT
Don’t worry, we can get all that down for you but our insurers insist the loft is lit, boarded and has a fixed ladder.
I HAVE FOOD IN MY FREEZER, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS?
It’s best to use up the contents of your freezer before removals day. Especially if you are relocating a long way away. We know this isn’t always do-able. If your move is local, we can put the freezer on last, and off first.
CAN I LEAVE THINGS IN DRAWERS
If you think your chest of drawers is strong enough then yes so long as the items aren’t breakable. But in all honesty, we advise taking things out of the drawers and packing them separately. If the items are clothes, we can of course load the drawers one by one onto the removals lorry.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH PICTURES AND MIRRORS?
Get them all in one area and stand them upright be placed in one of our padded picture bags to be loaded. On removals day we can separately wrap any oversize pictures or mirrors.
WE ARE BEING DELAYED. CAN YOU STORE OUR STUFF?
Yes, we know how stressful that can be but don’t worry. We have a comprehensive, dry and secure storage facility at our HQ in Brighton where we can store pretty much anything. We can grant you access to this storage facility as well with some short notice period (less than a day). And this is extremely competitively priced.
WAITING TIME WAIVER
The WTEC is offered should you wish to avoid any unwanted additional waiting time charges on removals day which can come about if there is a delay or hold up in your chain and you are unable to unload into your new home by 5pm. The waiver covers you from 2pm to 5pm at £30 per team member, per hour which of course is not payable if you have taken out the waiver. After 5pm it is at our discretion if we unload. The waiver does not cover you if you are unable to complete on your property and we need to come back at a later date, in which case extra charges will accrue.
ADDITIONAL LIABILITY OPTION: WHAT IS THIS?
We ensure items up to a value of £40 per item and a total value of £35000. Additional insurance can be purchased should you wish to cover your goods up to their full value. You may already enjoy such cover under your existing home and content s insurance. Please check if this is the case s we are sure you would wish to avoid paying twice for the same cover.
WHEN DO YOU WANT THE PAYMENT BY?
Usually 7 days prior to the moving date or call to discuss other options.
MOVING BOXES. WHEN DO WE RECIEVE THEM? HOW LONG CAN WE KEEP THEM?
We like to give them to customers in order of moving, ideally getting them to you 2 weeks before moving on local moves as they are on free loan.
WHAT TIME OF DAY DO YOU START?
We generally arrive at your house at around 8am, but all start times can be discussed to suit your needs.
